THE NIEL GOW FESTIVAL 2020
Cancellation and tickets

To those who purchased tickets for Niel Gow Festival 2020 events ….

In line with Government guidelines published on the 16th March we, the Niel Gow Festival Society committee, made the difficult decision to postpone the festival in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. This will reduce the risk of infection to staff, performers and audiences.

We recognise the undoubted disappointment of anyone with a ticket/tickets for any of the Niel Gow Festival events. When it becomes possible, we will reschedule the festival as best we can, though we couldn’t guarantee the same line-up for the concerts. It may well be the case that the festival is postponed until next year.

The administrative burden which this postponement places on the staff at Birnam Arts is considerable and likely to take quite some time to process. And it is Birnam Arts who have to deal with the matter of refunds (and not just for the Niel Gow Festival). It is a big ask, but perhaps you might consider treating all or part of your ticket expenditure as a donation to be shared equally between the NGF Society, Birnam Arts and the musicians who were to have been playing? (The amount for each musician would be small but welcome during this prolonged period of cancelled bookings.)

The Festival relies on ticket sales for its success and continuation with any surplus going towards the proposed Niel Gow Memorial. We, the NGFS Committee, share your disappointment and truly appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

IN LIGHT OF THE UK GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE ONGOING HEALTH CRISIS, THE 2020 NIEL GOW FESTIVAL HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

THIS WAS A SAD DECISION TO MAKE, BUT UNDOUBTEDLY THE RIGHT ONE, GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES.  THE NGFS COMMITTEE SHARES YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT.
